the newest group: healing within postponed TBA

    for helping professionals

We all bring our own scars to the helping space. Attending  to and caring for the hurts within yourself—within the  circle of the group—can transform pain into power and  take your skills to the next level. This ongoing group will  provide the safety and support to allow our collective  wisdom to nurture growth and relieve compounding  experiences of exposure to trauma and  countertransference. Process-focused, experiential,  trauma- and attachment-informed sessions will be led by  an extensively trained and experienced trauma therapist  with specialized education in vicarious trauma,  compassion fatigue, and complex trauma. EMDR group  techniques and protocols will also be offered.

This is NOT a consultation or supervision group.  It is a clinical treatment designed for helpers of any  gender and level of experience who recognize the  effects of their own or their clients’ trauma on both  their personal lives and their work. Any discussion of  client/patient work will focus on the impact of the  healer’s trauma on the work and/or the impact of the  work on the healer (e.g., counter transference,  vicarious traumatization). Members will be  encouraged and reminded to avoid professional advice  such as teaching techniques or case conceptualization,  and rather focus on the here-and-now interpersonal  process of the group, as well as providing mutual  support on a human-to-human level. The group goals, expectations, and agenda will be  determined by the group and will evolve on a regular  basis, with planned re-evaluation sessions every six  months.
