Group therapy is very effective for many concerns, and is more cost effective than individual therapy. Individual intake required; not every client is appropriate for group therapy.
Now accepting clients for the following groups: Neurodiverse Adults, Empowered Parents, and three levels of healing from interpersonal trauma: Stage 1 "Awakening," Stage 2 "Transforming" and Stage 3 "Emerging"
ALL GROUPS ARE for ADULTS and meet IN PERSON unless otherwise indicated
MONDAYS 11am-1230pm
Lunch provided, with consideration for member allergies and preferences.
FOR ADULTS SEEKING STABILITY AFTER TRAUMA
A monarch butterfly's journey through life begins when a tiny caterpillar eats its way out of an egg merely 1.2 millimeters tall; this after surviving 4-5 days on a milkweed plant likely visited by many predators and vegetation devouring insects. For the next two weeks, the caterpillar will evade countless dangers as it eats and grows, molting into a larger, stronger caterpillar four times before pupating (forming a chrysalis and adult butterfly). In the wild, only 1-5% of caterpillars born will make it to becoming a butterfly; the odds are really stacked against them. These little critters are truly survivors. However, with extra support, they can reach 95% survival rates!
This group can provide trauma survivors OF ALL GENDERS in Stage I the extra support they need to recover and grow to thrive. The first steps of healing are learned and practiced in community, discovering the medicine of one's own breath, sensation, motion, and awareness. Members will learn some about how the nervous system responds to traumatic experiences, both big and subtle, and receive mutual support as they experiment and find what works best for them to regulate their own systems and find balance and power. Stabilization with coregulation in the present is the purpose of Awakening, so we won’t be focusing on trauma memories in this group. Members will be accepted on an ongoing basis as room in the group allows (6 members max); members are allowed to continue attending until they feel they are ready to move to the next stage of healing (transforming through remembrance and mourning). Led by a Queer licensed counselor.

Lunch provided, with consideration for member allergies and preferences.
FOR ADULTS WORKING THROUGH TRAUMA
The butterfly has taken in all necessary nutrition and grown enough to retreat and contort into a state of disintegration, shedding its last caterpillar skin and forming a hard protective shell, its chrysalis. Inside, radical reorganization and structural formation is creating a new, different creature from the old.
In Stage 2 of healing from interpersonal trauma, survivors OF ALL GENDERS have found their footing and some sense of steadiness again, strengthening resources and adding to their knowledge and skills. They are now ready to look at what happened to them with open, honest eyes, reckon with the damages, and tend to their wounds. This allows trauma survivors to release what has been stuck and festering, making room for new understanding of their own truths. This group will experiment with diverse methods of reflection and digestion of traumatic material, providing opportunities to witness and believe each other, enveloping members' hard work with practices that stabilize, soothe and strengthen. Content will revolve so that new members can join at any time as room in the group allows (6 members max). Concurrent individual therapy recommended. Led by a Queer licensed counselor.

FOR ADULTS FEELING ISOLATED AFTER TRAUMA
The butterfly can no longer stay in the old shell of its chrysalis; it bursts out, dries and flexes its wings, shifting energy and resources throughout its body, and eventually flutters toward the sunlight with curiosity and courage.
In Stage 3 of healing from interpersonal trauma, survivors OF ALL GENDERS have found their footing and begun healing their wounds, but now seek to reconnect to their new, changed self-system as well as learning how to trust and open to connections with other humans, the natural state of being for an unharmed nervous system. This is often the lengthiest stage of healing from complex trauma (C-PTSD). This group will be largely process-focused and experiential, allowing trauma survivors to experiment with these new connections in a safer, mutually supportive context. Members will be accepted on an ongoing basis as room in the group allows (8 members max). Led by a Queer licensed counselor.

WEDNESDAYS 530pm-7pm
Dinner provided, with consideration for member allergies and preferences.
This group is intended to bring mutual support and increased skills to parents and caregivers with children in therapy. Using a program and resource-strengthening EMDR protocol created by Ana Gomez, LPC, parents will learn a framework for relating to their children and themselves from a place of strength and connection called the Parenting Wheel. Then, the GPEP Group Parent Empowerment Protocol will strengthen and enhance these new skills in the brains of group members. The parents will have ample opportunities to share their imperfect practices with each other to combat the shame and self-blame that can prevent parents from making positive changes to support the change process in their children. This group might be an attractive alternative to parents referred for individual therapy, especially if time or financial barriers exist.
Group will meet on most Wednesday evenings on an ongoing basis. Content will repeat, so members can begin at any time and may choose to stop after they complete the cycle or may opt to stay for another round, as space allows.

This group is intended to bring mutual support and confidential community to
neurodiverse adults (humans over age 18 with characteristics of people commonly diagnosed on the autism spectrum or with ADH [attention-deficit/hyperactivity] or who feel otherwise neurologically atypical) of ALL GENDERS without significant intellectual disability. It is NOT focused on learning ways to become or appear more neurotypical; the group will be client-centered, process-focused and designed to help members understand themselves and their relationships more deeply and increase life satisfaction. Led by a licensed counselor specializing in group work, gender diversity, and trauma.
