Katie has been very busy scaling up her skills and infrastructure in order to maximize her reach, and it's been a very long time since she's had openings for new clients. However, due to major changes (the biggest being no longer participating in insurance networks), there are anticipated limited openings beginning June, 2025.
If you would like to be considered for one of these limited openings, please click the button below to join her waiting list.
**PLEASE contact Katie for referrals to providers with openings if you are in urgent need of care.**

No, Katie no longer offers a sliding scale, but she would be happy to direct people to providers that do!
Insurance companies impose many restrictions on treatment that are not necessarily supported by evidence in research or best clinical practices. Additionally, they require providers to discount their fees for the privilege of working with their members; what's more, they pay a brand new therapist the same rate as one with decades of experience and additional training. This works out to a private practice therapist never getting a raise regardless of their efforts to improve services or the outcomes of their services.
Katie has always prized access for all and was one of the few private practitioners in her home area that accepted Medicaid for many years. However, it has become painfully clear to her that continuing to participate in a broken system that does not serve either members or providers is only helping to hold it up, so she stopped. She still holds a few pro-bono (free) spots in her caseload for ongoing therapy clients with no resources.
If you have out of network benefits, you may be able to submit a special receipt to your insurance for partial reimbursement; I am happy to provide this for you.
Katie needs to be able to have a predictable income from week to week and month to month, so ongoing therapy clients, whether group or individual, are expected to commit to payment each week (except if the therapist is out of office or cancels) whether they attend the session or not. If the client has an emergency or is sick, every effort will be made to reschedule within one week, but the client will be charged even when they cancel. This has been shown to frequently increase a client's commitment to prioritize therapy and thus create greater improvement in symptoms/quicker achievement of goals.
